Plane Wave Scattering from an Axially Periodic Array of Hollow Noble Metal Circular Cylinders of Finite Length

(in English) We demonstrate a powerful numerical solution to the plane wave scattering from a periodic array of hollow noble metal circular cylinders of finite length. By using the impedance boundary conditions, the problem is reduced into a set of integral equations for the electric and magnetic current densities that flow on the cylinder surface in a unit cell. The Galerkin procedure leads us to a system of linear equations, and its solution gives the far and near ectromagnetic fields, the scattering cross sections of each grating mode, as well as the absorption cross section. The linear equations are modified into the form of the Fredholm second kind, which yields stable and rapidly convergent solutions.
