In this paper, we proposed a smartwatch strap wireless power transfer (WPT) scheme using flexible coils and shielding materials. We analyzed the flexible coils with a bending radius to transfer power through a curved coil structure. We analyzed the flexible coils in a frequency domain using Z-parameters to see any changes in impedance of the coils with the bending radius. Finally, we implemented a smartwatch strap WPT system. The implemented system achieved overall power transfer efficiency of 30% and electromagnetic field strength less than 270 mG 1 cm away from the system. |
