Due to high radio wave attenuation, directional antenna is widely studied in 28 GHz band which is considered to be a promising candidate band in 5th generation mobile communication system. On the other hand, since vehicle antenna is generally demanded to be omni-directional pattern, it is considered to realize omni-directional pattern by utilizing several directional antennas witch are mounted distributedly. In that case, glass windows facing all directions of the vehicle are desirable locations for antenna mounting. However, investigation of vehicle glass mounted antenna in the high frequency band such as 28 GHz is not sufficient. In this paper, therefore, we report fundamental antenna characteristics obtained from experiments in which 28 GHz band antennas are mounted on front, rear, and both side glass windows. |
