Design of Wideband Bandstop Filters Using Open-Circuited Stubs

(in English) In this paper, an exact design method of wideband bandstop filters using open-circuited stubs is proposed. First, the variation of the filter structure with the number and the connection method of the open-stubs is investigated. Based on analysis of the filter circuit, the theoretically realizable characteristics of this type of BSF is discussed, and a Chebyshev type transfer function is derived which ensure the realization of equal-ripple response within the passband of the BSF. With the aid of an optimization algorithm, a method for determining the circuit parameters is developed. Finally, multiple microstrip BSFs are designed, and the measured frequency responses are found in good consistent with the predicted ones, and this verifies well the proposed design method.
