Experiment Study on Broadband and Miniaturization of MSL Open Stub

(in English) A trend of a filter circuit using a microstrip line (MSL) is to broaden the band and to reduce the size. The Band Rejection Filter (BRF) circuit using MSL has been reported to be reduced in size and broadened by reactance insertion, small double folding stub, and radial line stub. However, when the main transmission line and the stub line have different line widths, that is, there is a difference in characteristic impedance, little has been described. Therefore, in this research, broadband of λ/4 open stub, which is a basic BRF circuit, was studied from the viewpoint of characteristic impedance of main transmission line and stub line. Also, we compared the result with the well known radial line type stub. Furthermore, we examined several circuit patterns with inductance inserted in the stub line and evaluated the miniaturization.
