In local railways, expectations for autonomous driving are increasing due to the decrease personnel by the declining population and the influence of mass retirement of engineers. On the other hand, the momentum for introducing autonomous driving technology has also been expanding to prevent human errors. Therefore, we have begun a basic study to utilize sensors adopted in automated driving of automobiles for the railways. This paper introduces a practical experiment of application of this sensing technology. |
