[Invited Talk] Research and development of a medical and nursing care support system based on sensor network and sensing technology

(in English) A medical and nursing care support system, which is combined with sensor network technology using Wi-Fi, Wi-SUN and LPWA systems and radar sensor technology, have been developed in order to both reduce the burden of nursing care and keep the privacy of care recipient. The system can detect vital data, such as life behavior of the care recipient, breathing and heartbeat, etc. by using a radar sensor and transfer that information to the management room via sensor network using Wi-Fi or Wi-SUN for indoor environment. Moreover, the system can also serve the positioning of care recipient by using LPWA radio terminal with GPS function for outdoor environment. As the result, it is possible to improve the remarkable work efficiency for the nursing care person. This research and development is promoted by SCOPE project in MIC Japan.
