In 5G and beyond 5G networks, private operators could be a valuable addition to traditional public operators to help reduce deployment and maintenance cost and to provide specialized services tailored to specific group of users in limited geographic areas. This paper describes features of Release-15 5G networks and Release-16 beyond 5G networks that helps to support private operator networks including network sharing, traffic switching and splitting between 3GPP and non3GPP networks, and support for non-public networks, including stand-alone networks and networks implemented as a part of a PLMN. |
