Study on Microwave Power Transfer System for Stratospheric Platform
Yuta Nakamoto, Naoki Shinohara (Kyoto Univ.) WPT2018-73
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Stratospheric platform attracts attention as new infrastructure platform for telecommunication and surveillance applications. For a long time operation, a lightweight and stable power supply source is indispensable.
The one solution is microwave power transfer.
By using radio waves, microwave power transfer can transmit power wirelessly.
Considering the shape of an airplane, it is preferable that the receiver is an elongated rectangle.
So, transmission efficiency is improved by elongating the transmitter in accordance with the receiver. In this paper, we evaluate the transmission efficiency depending on the shape of the receiver and the transmission efficiency when the airplane rotates or moves.
