Study on Multipath Retrodirective for Microwave Power Transmission Taichi Sasaki, Naoki Shinohara (Kyoto Univ.) WPT2018-76 |

In this paper, we studied about contribution of multipath retrodirective to efficiency and safety of indoor microwave power transmission (MPT). Inside a room, there are many propagation paths (multipath) besides the direct wave between the receiver and the transmitter. We simulated multipath retrodirective and verified that the power signal reproduces the multipath of the pilot signal. By using multipath, MPT efficiency was superior to that of single beam. We also simulated the case that a water cuboid exists between the receiver and the retrodirective array. Since it blocked the direct wave of the pilot signal, the multipath power signal were also only reflected waves. This result shows that target tracking is possible even if the receiver is not directly on the line of sight. In addition, it shows that multipath power signals are formed in a safe way even when people get close to the system. |
