[Invited Talk] Research and development on optical fibers for next-generation large-capacity transmission

(in English) We will review research and development on optical fibers for large-capacity transmission. We achieved record-low loss of 0.1419 dB/km at 1560 nm by reducing scattering loss due to density fluctuation with slightly doping fluorine to a GeO2-free silica core. Next, we will also review our newly developed 125 µm-cladding coupled four-core fibers that realized the ultra-low spatial mode dispersion and the ultra-low attenuation, both of which are the lowest ever reported among the optical fibers for the space-division multiplexed transmission.
