On Bit LLR Design for Polar-Coded MIMO Spatial Multiplexing System Based on QRD-M Algorithm

(in English) In order to improve bandwidth efficiency of wireless communications systems, MIMO techniques have been extensively studied. The key technique for MIMO spatial multiplexing systems is how to develop its low-complexity detection. Among many existing MIMO detection techniques, QR decomposition with M algorithm (QRD-M) is known to provide a trade off between the error rate performance and computational complexity of maximum likelihood detection (MLD). In this report, we propose a system that combines MIMO spatial multiplexing system based on QRD-M algorithm with CRC concatenated polar code and performs list decoding. Since some bit likelihood that is used for the log-likelihood ratio (LLR) calculation will be lost in the process of QRD-M, we investigate two compensating approaches and compare their achievable error rate performance.
