Channel Estimation and Data Detection for Grant-Free Multiple Access Using Vector Approximate Message Passing

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, we propose joint channel estimation (CE) and multiuser detection (MUD) for the grant-free non-orthogonal multiple access (GF-NOMA). Conventional scheme converts the original sparse reconstruction with multiple vectors into that with single block-sparse vector and solves the reconstruction problem by block sparsity adaptive subspace pursuit (BSASP). Although BSASP can achieve the superior performance, its computational complexity is significantly high, and the properly-tuned thresholds are required for each signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). We show that our proposal enables to perform an effective CE and MUD applying multiple measurement vector approximate message passing (MMV-AMP) to the original sparse reconstruction with multiple vectors. Computer simulations confirm that the performance of our proposal is comparable with that of the conventional scheme while lower computational complexity.
