A Study on Age-of-Information Minimization in Two-User Multiple Access Channel with Energy Harvesting

(in English) In this paper, two-user multiple access channel is investigated where users, namely sensor nodes (SNs), transmit their data to a common fusion center (FC) only using power obtained by energy harvesting. As specific multiple access schemes, frequency-division multiple access (FDMA) and time-division multiple access (TDMA) are assumed. We propose an algorithms which are based on a bisection method and enable optimum allocation of wireless resources to each SN so as to minimize age-of-information (AoI). We compare the AoI of two multiple access schemes by solving the optimization problems. Furthermore, numerical results reveal that FDMA achieves lower AoI than TDMA.
