In this report, the implementation of moving sound source in the sound field rendering is discussed. To implement the moving sound source in the FDTD method, which is generally used in the sound field rendering, the direct method and
the convolution method are proposed. In the direct method, an instantaneous source waveform is directly radiated from grid points on the moving path at each time step in sequence. In the convolution method, all impulse responses are calculated beforehand from grid points on the moving path of the sound source, then they are convoluted by switching with the movement of the sound source. The formulations and numerical experiments are made for the two-dimensional sound field, and the accuracy of the direct method and the convolution method are compared. It is found as a result that the direct method and the convolution method have the same accuracy, and the convolution method has the advantage that the calculation time is shorter than the direct method, and the source waveform and moving speed can be freely changed at the time of convolution. |
