| (in English) | This paper reports a trial of Segment Routing IPv6 (SRv6)-based service chaining at ShowNet in Interop Tokyo 2019. Interop Tokyo is one of the largest network technology exhibitions. ShowNet in Interop Tokyo is also one of the largest event networks that demonstrates the latest network technologies, holds protocol interoperability tests, and provides network connectivity to exhibitors and visitors in Interop Tokyo. In ShowNet 2019, we designed and deployed an SRv6-based service chaining network as a demonstration and a critical network infrastructure of the ShowNet backbone. SRv6 is still a state-of-the-art routing protocol; therefore, we faced some issues to practically design and operate such an SRv6-based network. In this paper, we describe the design of our service chaining and lessons learned from its operation in ShowNet 2019. | |
