Passive Current Balancing Three-Phase Interleaved LLC Converter with Reduced Switch Voltage Stress and Asymmetric Resonant Operation
Yoshiya Tada, Masatoshi Uno (IU) EE2019-32
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) For pulse frequency modulation controlled LLC converters to be operated in an interleaving manner, additional current feedback control loops or auxiliary circuits to adjust resonant frequency are indispensable for current balancing, increasing the circuit complexity and cost. This paper proposes a novel three-phase interleaved LLC converter with an automatic current balancing, reduced switch voltage stresses, and asymmetric resonant operations that contribute to reducing RMS currents as well as Joule losses by employing two flying capacitors. The experimental verification using a 1-kW prototype was conducted to verify the efficacy of the proposed three-phase interleaved LLC converter.
