Analysis of diffuse lung disease shadows using Bolasso feature selection method

(in English) Diffuse lung disease is an intractable disease and abnormal shadows appear on lung X-ray CT images.
Since various patterns of abnormal shadows indicate the nature of diseases, the identification of abnormal shadows by doctors is important part of diagnosis.
To construct a system to identify abnormal shadows can be expected to lead to early detection of disease and appropriate treatment.
However, in the previous studies, the identification system considering the relationship between shadow classes has not been sufficiently studied.
Therefore, in this study, we constructed a one-vs-one classifiers for various abnormal shadows and normal shadows, and investigated the relationship with normal shadows in classification.
In the construction of the classifiers, we applied feature selection using Bolasso, and confirmed the feature expression of the abnormal shadow.
Moreover, we revealed the selected features shows the similarity between classes .
