[Invited Lecture] Utilization and Perspective of Radio Communication Technology for Train Control Systems

(in English) In order to realize simplify maintenance by reducing wayside equipment and improve flexibility of train operation, the radio train control systems have been developed and implemented. While the traditional train control systems keep safety control by wayside equipment, the radio train control systems realize both safety control and flexibility train operation using wayside and on-board processing. In this presentation, I describe the outline of the radio train control system and requirements for radio transmission, and show the radio communication technology expected to be applied.
