Mobile Terminal Collaborated MIMO Communications Exploiting Higher-Frequency Bands
Hidekazu Murata (Kyoto Univ.) CS2019-66
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Mobile terminal collaborated multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) reception is a form of distributed MIMO transmission, in which a base station transmits multiple signal streams to a virtual terminal with a large number of receive antennas. This virtual terminal consists of neighboring mobile terminals in collaboration with each other. In this system, terminal subset selection can be applied to reduce the amount of traffic among collaborated terminals when a sufficient number of terminals are available. This terminal subset selection depends on the channel condition between the base station and the virtual terminal. Therefore, the terminal subset selection scheme should be adaptive to the channel.
In this paper, first, research topics of this system are reviewed, and then the performance of terminal collaborated MIMO reception with adaptive terminal selection is shown using actual received signals measured in Kyoto City.
