(in English) Network traffic is increased dramatically. To support such huge traffic volume, transmission capacity of an optical fiber should be enhanced. It is expected that, in 2030, the required transmission capacity of single optical fiber will be reach 1 Pbps which will exceed the physical limitations of a single mode optical fiber and more and more capacity is required. To achieve 1 Pbps, it is essential to handle spatially parallel optical channels over multiple multi- core / multi-mode fibers. This is called as “Massively Parallel Optical Networks”. There are enormous number of optical channels in the massively parallel optical networks. To accommodate many MAC client signals efficiently into the optical channels, a dynamic MAC technology that maps massively parallel optical channels and bandwidth variable MAC client signals is necessary. The goal of the dynamic MAC in this research is to achieve optical signal parallelism of 80,000 and a stretching degree of 400. In this paper, research items of realizing the dynamic MAC technology and current activities are discussed.
