Experimental Investigation of a Reconfigurable Circularly Polarized Microstrip Antenna Employing Switchable Short-End Microstrip-Line Perturbations

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper presents a new design of circularly polarized microstrip antenna with a reconfigurable function. This proposed antenna consists of a microstrip patch and double-loaded microstrip-lines connected to the corners of the patch element via switching diodes. No additional bias networks are required and simple short-end microstrip lines are used as perturbations. The sense of different circular polarization can be achieved by applying switching voltages to the diodes, and the concept and performance of the proposed antenna are discussed by simulated and experimental results.
