Development of a Web Application for Supporting the Creation of Tactile Maps on Swell Paper

(in English) To create images of tactile maps on swell paper, drawing software is used. However, in general drawing software it is difficult to set parameters of characters (print letters and braille) and tactile point, line, and surface symbols to be suitable for tactile reading. Thus, we developed a new drawing Web application that allows its users to easily create tactile maps on swell paper. The stamp function of the application allows the users to add characters and tactile symbols by single clicking. The filling function allows the users to paste a surface pattern suitable for tactile reading. Three people who had no experience in drawing tactile maps evaluated the functions implemented in the application positively.
