We developed a local magnetic flux bias (LFB) technique to introduce a phase shift in the superconducting circuit. The LFB technique can shift phase by applying magnetic flux to a storage loop in a single flux quantum (SFQ) circuit. This method can shift a phase without modification of the circuit fabrication process. Using the phase shift by the LFB technique, we designed a delay flip-flop with complementary outputs (DFFC). The area and power consumption of the designed DFFC by using the LFB technique is smaller than those of conventional DFFCs. We experimentally confirmed correct operation of the DFFC designed by using the LFB technique. The measured bias margin normalized by the designed bias voltage was 113%–128%. |
