Recently, the next generation (5-th generation: 5G) mobile communication systems have been actively investigated all over the world. Various systems exist when considering the microwave bands after the introduction of 5 G systems. Hence, the propagation characteristics when considering the interference among the systems is very important. In this study, we focus on the fact that wireless communication devices such as smartphones and wireless LANs are mainly used indoors in various environments.
In previous studies, we evaluated the propagation loss due to the difference in the angle of the vertical plane in the environment where radio waves enter from outdoors to indoors.
In this report, we compared the loss characteristics (outdoor to indoor penetration path loss) when radio waves enter indoors from outside through windows in the 0.9 / 2.4 / 5.1 GHz band where many IoT devices are expected to be used.
We show the outdoor to indoor penetration path loss characteristics at 0.92, 2.425, and 5.12 [GHz] due to the difference in the incident angle from outdoor to indoor considering the horizontal plane not only the vertical plane. |
