Mathematical modeling of spintronics neuron device based on thermal dynamics

(in English) Spintronics device has been shown to reproduce some functionalities of synapse (i.e. spike-timing-dependent plasticity) and of a neuron (i.e. leaky integrate-and-fire: LIF) by same materials. In addition, these devices take advantage of its internal thermal dynamics to mimic neuronal temporal dynamics. The spintronics neuron devices are stochastic switching devices whose switching probability depends on the internal temperature. Thus, the switching probability changes through the device temperature controlled by input pulse series. In our model, the device internal temperature is regarded as an internal state of the LIF neuron. On the other hand, the switching is treated as firing/non-firing. Finally, the switching probability characteristics according to the input pulse frequency gives an output function of the proposed neuron model.
