Fairness Enhancement of Energy Consumption Using Friendship in Bluetooth Mesh

(in English) With the recent spread of IoT and wireless sensor networks, wireless communication standards require low energy consumption and long-distance communication. As a communication standard that satisfies these requirements.a mesh networking standard, Bluetooth Mesh, attracts attention because Bluetooth is widely used and is easy to develop its applications.
Bluetooth Mesh has an energy-saving function called Friendship, but the nodes have large deviation in consumed energy and a node with large energy consumption costs more and more.
In this manuscript, we propose a method of energy consumption uniformization for Friendship of Bluetooth Mesh. We conduct measurements on the consumed current of a Bluetooth device according to Bluetooth Mesh states. On the other hand, we conduct Bluetooth Mesh simulations in order to derive the times spent in each state for given parameter sets of Friendship. The experimental and simulation results show that the proposed method is effective to uniformize the energy consumption among the Friendship nodes.
