Effects of Text Anchoring Position on Readability with Augmented Reality Head-Mounted Displays
Shogo Fukushima (U-Tokyo/JST), Takeo Hamada, Ari Hautasaari (U-Tokyo) HIP2019-78
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The use scene of augmented reality (AR) head-mounted displays (HMD) has been expanding, and browsing information by using a HMD is possible even outdoors. In this paper, we investigate the readability of text on a AR HMD while walking. There are two methods for displaying text on a HMD: fixing the text on the screen coordinate system, and fixing the text on the world coordinate system. We report on the results of a laboratory experiment comparing the readability when displaying text in these two coordinate systems while walking on a treadmill.
