We developed novel metal nanoparticles embedded carbon film electrodes by co-sputtering of carbon and metal. The electrodes exhibited not only high electrocatalytic activity, but also long-term stability because nanoparticle embedded in the carbon film suppressed the aggregation and detachment of particles. Until now, we applied the electrodes for detecting environmental pollutants such as As3+ and geosmin, biomolecules such as H2O2 and sugars and gases. Recently, we have been developing more active electrodes of embedded electrodes by increasing sputtering targets electrodeposited same or different metal nanoparticles onto embedded metal nanoparticles in the carbon film. |
