8K ultra-high-definition (UHD) video begins to be widely used in the medical and digital signage fields. We have developed 8K UHD transmission, storage, and distribution system. We have also proposed architectures of video packet switching function, video stream synchronization function for multiple independent video streams, and so on by using Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK), and experimented these functions. In this paper, we report implementation method that we newly developed video switching function to select and transfer one 24-Gbps uncompressed 8K UHD video streams from four streams without interruption. We also report method to integrate video stream synchronization function into the video switching system and experiment for this system in the Kanagawa Institute of Technology (KAIT) booth at the Interop Tokyo 2019 exhibition. |
