Two convolutional neural networks trained through Co-teaching perform a complementary role

(in English) Deep learning technology needs big labeled data without noisy labels to improve its performance. However, the costs for labeling big data become high according to label quality. To reduce the costs of labeling, training algorithms tolerating noisy labels are required. The Co-teaching algorithm is one of algorithm tolerating noisy labels. The algorithm simultaneously trains two networks and shows the high performance of classification tasks with a noisy label. We showed that the networks improve their performance by using ensemble average of their outputs. These results suggest that the outputs of two networks trained through Co-teaching perform a complementary role even though they exchange the information on noise cooperatively with each other during training.
