Desirable ITS Communication and Evaluation Method -- A Study on Communication Design and Information Acquisition Rate of Sensor and Communication System in TsRm Communication Evaluation Method --

(in English) In this paper, using a microscopic traffic flow simulator, we examine the relationship between performance characteristics and evaluation methods focusing on inter-vehicle communication for safety, sensors for detecting surrounding vehicles, and hybrid systems using both communication and sensors. We evaluate the performance based on the required information acquisition rate using “TsRm evaluation” that considers a vehicle approaching within the range of Rm within T seconds as a vehicle with a high possibility of collision, and evaluates only those vehicles. It is suggested that communication and sensor design parameters required for realization are greatly affected by evaluation method, and the required performance may decrease.
