Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We investigate an interference suppression in a system with a conductor wall between two antennas. In this paper, we evaluated the interference suppression by putting an electromagnetic band gap (EBG) structure on the conductor wall and blocking surface waves. First, the unit cell of the mushroom-type EBG structure was designed by using the equivalent circuit model. Next, characteristics of the interference suppression by the periodic EBG structure composed of the designed unit cell was analyzed and measured. In a small-scale model with a distance of 3.2 wavelengths between antennas, an interference suppression was 5-10 dB by the EBG structure, and the mean square error between the analysis and the measurement was -24.9 dB. In a large-scale model with an antenna distance of 92.1 wavelengths, an interference suppression was 6.8 dB by the EBG structure.
