Currently, Local 5G (5th Generation Communication System), which provides private services within limited sites such as buildings and premises by using innovative technologies in 5G, has attracted attentions. The demands on the outdoor use of Local 5G become stronger, while only a 100 MHz bandwidth of 28.2–28.3 GHz is allocated for outdoor use cases at present. In general, 28 GHz or higher millimeter wave band has difficulty in wide area coverage with one base station, and low-cost area expansion methods have been widely studied. In this paper, we present a local network system enabling area expansion using an RoF (Radio over Fiber) technology for constructing a local linear cell to provide a local service to moving vehicles and trains. This system is based on TDD (Time Division Duplex) LTE and uses 32 GHz band for radio communication. RF an-alog signals are divided into four by using a divider and divided RF signals are transferred to multiple RRHs (Remote Radio Heads) with fibers. Also, a compensation circuit for the Doppler shift is implemented in UE to support vehicles and trains at a moving speed of 60 km/h. |
