Investigation of Rectifier Operation with Harmonic Controlled Input Signals towards Pulse Modulation WiCoPT System

(in English) One of main issues on Wireless Communication and Power Transmission(WiCoPT) system is that modulated input signals degrade the power conversion efficiency(PCE). This research investigates the rectifier operation with controlled harmonic input signals. The investigation clarifies the fundamental input signal with optimized odd harmonics increases the output voltage and the RF-DC power conversion efficiency of the rectifier, compared with a continuous wave (CW) input signal. The in-phase odd harmonics with their amplitude over threshold voltage of the diode maximizes the PCE. Analysis with various pulse waveform signals clarified that the optimal waveform to maximize the PCE of a single shunt rectifier circuit is the square wave signal, and the PCE improvement achieves more than 5points against that of the CW input signal at -2dBm input power.
