In the rice cake manufacturing process, race cake is only managed by the room temperature. For high precision management, non-contact measurement of elastic properties of race cake is in demand. So far, there research about contact measurement method of elastic properties of rice cake. However, there is no reports about non-contact method. Therefore, in this report, we established non-contact and temperature controllable measurement system of viscoelastic properties of rice cake by using airborne ultrasound, Laser Doppler vibrometer (LDV), and Peltier device. Detectability of viscoelastic characteristic changes with temperature were investigated as a fundamental study.
Firstly, we developed temperature controllable system by using Peltier device within the temperature range of 0~70°C. Next, vibrations (~100 nm) ware produced by focused airborne ultrasound while changing the temperature and vibration velocities were measured by LDV. Amplitudes of displacements obtained from integral calculation were 50~300 nm. Then, Young’s moduli and viscosities were estimated by curve fitting to theoretical equation derived from Voigt model. The results showed that the Young’s moduli and viscosities were changed in the range of 35~135 MPa and 5~20 kPa・s for the temperature changes in the range of 0~70°C, and elastic characteristics increased as temperature decreased. From the results, we confirm the possibility of application to non-contact viscoelasticity measurement of rice cake using the proposed system. |
