Experimental Evaluation of Remote Beamforming Scheme for Higher Frequency Band Radio-over-Fiber Systems

(in English) We have proposed remote beamforming scheme for higher frequency band, which can remotely control the beam direction of base stations by central stations. The proposed scheme fixedly connects the wavelengths to antenna elements. The beam direction of base stations can be controlled by RF phase controls in central stations apart from RF phase shift caused by chromatic dispersion with transmission through optical fiber. The scheme provides completely passive operation of the base stations, since no control of them is needed. Experiments confirm the feasibility of the scheme for a condition that uses 10GHz RF signals, 10km single mode fiber, and four-element linear array antennas.
