Theoretical Design of New Wideband Filters using Short-Circuit-Stub and Parallel-Coupled-Lines

(in English) In this paper, 4 types of wideband band-pass filters composed of short-circuited-stubs and parallel-coupled lines are synthesized based on transmission line theory. First, the theoretical transfer functions and Chebyshev-type theoretical filtering functions of the four filter structures are derived, while the characteristic impedance of each part of the filters is determined and confirmed using these two functions. As an example, a wideband bandpass filter with a 36% fractional bandwidth based on the microstrip structure is synthesized and simulated. Simulation results and theoretical results agree well with each other, which validates the effectiveness of the proposed filter structures and corresponding synthesis theory.
