A Study on Signal Detection in Massive MIMO Using MCMC

(in English) MIMO is a new technology for wireless transmission; as the number of antennas increases, the computational complexity of the signal detection process increases. In this paper, we investigate the application of Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC), which is a stochastic method, to reduce the complexity. While the Mixed-Gibbs Sampling (MGS) method has already been proposed as a method using MCMC, this study proposes the use of the Hamiltonian Monte Carlo (HMC) method with a normal mixture prior distribution. We compare the signal detection characteristics through computer simulations. The results show that the proposed method exhibits advantageous properties in the case of high channel correlation.
