Development of Beam-Steering Based Millimeter-Wave Double-Directional Channel Sounder and Multi-Path Estimation Measurement

(in English) In recent millimeter wave communication systems, more accurate channel models should be essential for proper system design. In this study, we developed a new double-directional radio channel sounder by combining the channel sounder baseband circuit developed in the previous research with RF front-ends equipped with an array antenna capable of high-speed beam steering. This paper presents the developed system configuration and the implementation of the beam-steering controller in detail, and shows some some results on multi-path estimation in the laboratory environment.
