Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Interest in dysphagia is needed in the area of rehabilitation. In this study, we developed a device to measure
movement of laryngeal uplift accompanying swallowing using a magnetic sensor. The method of measurement was performed
with reference to a representative screening test, repeatitive saliva swallowing test (RSST), drinking test, food test. By
differentiating the measurement result using the magnetic sensor, it was possible to extract the characteristic waveform change
during swallowing. When the first swallowing was taken out as a template waveform in the measured waveform and the
change in the similarity and the whole measurement result was obtained, the similarity increased at the time of swallowing, and
the number of times of swallowing and the time are automatically counted has become possible. In the previous research, there
were many cases where individual differences appeared largely in the measurement waveform due to the shape of the laryngeal
ridge of the subject, and it was not possible to automatically detect it, but it was possible to respond flexibly to individual
differences by this method, and the automatic detection rate improved from about 7 percent to about 9 percent overall. Also, by
displaying the measured waveform as a waveform converted into the standard deviation for each time interval, we were able to
obtain consistent amplitude and duration information from various measured waveforms.
