Many kinds of hydro acoustic devices are used in the field of ocean development of resources and observations. These devices transmit and receive sound under the sea, so it is important to evaluate characteristics of sound reflection on sea surface. A completely reflection model on sea surface without waves is often used, but amplitude and phase of reflected sound wave fluctuates because of the changing sea surface with waves. In this research, using acoustic simulation with the FDTD method, we evaluated variability characteristics of reflected sound waves on sea surface generated by Bretshneider-Mitsuyasu spectra observed in deep offshore coast of Japan. From the simulation results, we quantitatively clarified the influence of the sea surface wavelength on the amplitude and phase fluctuations or reflected sound waves. |
