(in English) The implementation of fifth-generation (5G) mobile communications has begun around the world. Research and development is now focusing on the sixth generation of mobile communications (6G), which will be realized in the 2030s. White papers on 6G are available on the Web from the University of Oulu and other communication carrier companies and research institutes around the world, and they discuss the vision of society in the 2030s and the requirements for information and communication networks that can be drawn from that vision. Terahertz-wave radio applications are expected to be a means of realizing the ultra-high speed radio (>100 Gbit/s) expected in 6G.
