Unsupervised learning based on local interactions between reservoir and readout neurons

(in English) Reservoir computing is suitable for implementations in edge computing devices thanks to its low computational cost and ease of physical implementation. However, widely used learning methods, such as Ridge regression, require global information of reservoir states and readout layer. This makes it difficult to implement reservoir computing systems in edge computing devices based on analog devices and circuits. Spike-timing-dependent plasticity (STDP) is a learning method based solely on local information. In this study, we propose a reservoir computing model which can classify temporal patterns whose timescale is far longer than that of a reservoir. In order to obtain this property, we implement multiple conduction delays to readout synapses.
