A study on analytical solutions of multi-stage wideband LC matching circuits

(in English) As mobile phones progress in the third, fourth, and fifth generations, the frequency bands used in mobile phones have increased dramatically. RF components for mobile phone terminals are becoming more integrated to cope with this increasing frequency band while suppressing the increase in size. In the case of power amplifier (PA) mounted on the RF component, it is necessary to correspond many frequency bands in one PA. In this case, the wideband of the matched circuit is a typical one of the technical problems of PA. To date, the author focused on LC matching circuits composed of inductors and capacitors, and reported that there is a prospect of achieving about 30% and 60% of fractional bandwidth for two-stage and three-stage LC matching circuits. In previous reports, the matching conditions at the design frequency were obtained analytically, and the wideband conditions were discovered and searched based on numerical calculations. In this report, we report a method to efficiently determine the element value of the matching circuit based on the frequency differentiation of the input impedance of the matching circuit.
