| (in English) | In a public performance where a performer and an audience share the same time and space, the audience shows stronger psychophysiological reactions than those when listening to a recorded one. In the present study, we examined an audience's psychophysiological reactions to a J-Pop live performance from the perspective of performer-and-audience dynamics. In the experiment, a male singer-songwriter performed four pieces of J-Pop music in public. The audience's electrocardiogram and his/her perception of affective nuances for each performance were measured in the live and the recorded conditions. As a result, the audience's heart-rate was more entrained to the musical tempo only in the live condition. Furthermore, the audience's ratings for the live performance showed more similar pattern to those provided by the performer. | |
