CMOS image sensor that can capture images with both high time resolution and high spatial resolution is required for inspection and measurement at factories. Pipeline ADCs are suitable for high-speed imaging, but the area of the ADC is an issue and it is difficult to increase the number of pixels. If the area of the internal operational amplifier is reduced, the ADC accuracy will decrease due to a decrease in gain. On the other hand, ring amplifier can realize stabilization and multi-stage gain in a small area by limiting the loop band by itself during settling. In this research, we propose a small-area row-parallel pipeline ADC that uses a ring amplifier as an amplifier and comparator in order to realize a high-speed, high-resolution CMOS image sensor. |
