Study on Quick Detection of Video Streaming based on Spectrum Measurement

(in English) For a dynamic channel selection/allocation in a high-dense wireless local area network (WLAN), traffic information in each channel is useful. Specifically, accurately predicted traffic information in wireless networks is useful for the optimal channel selection/allocation. In the related works, deep learning/autoregressive moving average model is employed to predict duty cycle (DC) based on observed DC. However, the predicted DC is reactive since it is difficult to find a foretaste of increase/decrease of DC with the observed time series of DC. In this paper, we investigate a quick detection for starting video streaming since the starting video streaming would lead to a significant increase of the traffic. The detector is designed using the characteristics of channel utilization under starting video streaming. Numerical results show that the video streaming can be detected quickly by the proposed detector. In addition, experimental test shows that proposed detector can also detect video streaming in the real situation.
