[Poster Presentation] Latency-Aware Fair Scheduling for Spatial Reuse in WLANs: A Lyapunov Optimization Approach

(in English) Wireless local area networks (WLANs) have been widely deployed today, and the demand for low latency communication in WLANs has been growing.
This paper introduces latency-aware scheduler with orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) used in IEEE 802.11ax networks.
In this method, we formulate a scheduling problem for WLANs with the stabilization of the transmission queue, which is one of the quality of service (QoS) issues and the fairness of the instantaneous data rate as a stochastic optimization problem.
This problem is solved by using Lyapunov optimization, which eliminates the time average constraints of the problem.
In IEEE 802.11ax networks, access points (APs) can transmit concurrently with neighboring WLANs.
Accordingly, it has been difficult to estimate the data rate that is necessary for resource allocation.
This method adopts a data rate estimation from basic service set (BSS) color.
Finally, we perform numerical simulations in dense WLANs and compare a latency index and fairness of data rate among the proposed scheme and compared schemes.
