We are developing a robot that can watch TV together with people. We conducted an experiment to identify the effects of robotic utterances on human interaction during TV watching and the improvement points of robotic utterances. From the analysis of human-human and human-robot dialogues while watching TV, we found that the presence of robots tends to trigger topics of conversation between people and that the number of dialogue turns per topic is shorter than that of human-human dialogues. In addition, we found improvements in the robot's dialogue acts, such as reducing the frequency of questions, increasing the dialogue acts of repetitive utterances and information provision. |
